The above is a photo of the imposing Leshan limestone Buddha standing 71 meters high. This picture was taken from aboard a tour boat. If time permits, you can actually go ashore and climb alongside the Buddha. Carved around 700 A.D. this person is worth visiting. Location is less than an hour’s drive from the base of Emei Shan (Emei Mountain).
